Chief Pokagon

I’ve been doing a project about a Native American Chief called Chief Pokagon. He was the reason that his tribe, the Potatwatomi, could stay near South Bend when all the other Native Americans had to leave because the white people came. He could stay because he agreed to become a Catholic. He also had to pay taxes. I found this out at the history museum.
