8th August

Today we went to the fair, and I tried a deep-fried, sugar covered pastry thing called an elephant-ear I covered it in candyfloss as well! The fair was in a place called Niles in the state of Michigan and it was a ‘riverfest’ and old car show.

It had fun things as well as traipsing around a field gawping at cars with our neighbours (who are really cool and one of them – a boy called Elijah – is in my class at school!). There was a ride called the cliffhanger, it was like a bouncy castle slide but on a very steep slope, and something that resembled a straight bungee jump, it was a how-far-can-you-get-before-the-bungee-pulls-you-back thing.

There was also a climbing wall on which I touched the bell easily… well on the easy side, on the hard side I would have done it too but one of the hand-holds had fallen off.
