Chicago

I went to Chicago! There were LOADS of things to do, the aquarium, the kids’ museum, the normal museum (with the most complete T-rex skeleton in the world). I loved the aquarium. My favourite part was the 4D long clip. 4D is when the characters make the ground move, the seat shakes. When they’re underwater, bubbles come out. When something splashes, water comes out and when it snows, fake snow comes out.  My 2nd favourite part was the ‘Fantasea’ show. There were dolphins, beluga whales, penguins, sea lions and hawks.
You can find out more about the Shedd Aquarium by clicking this link.

Here is the beluga whale with her 8-month-old calf

Hi! Maddie here to tell you about, Chicago! I think the best parts were:

1. The Sears Tower. The Sears Tower is the highest building in the Western hemisphere.  It's 1451 feet, and 103 stories tall! We went up in a quite fast lift and when we were at the top we stood on a glass box and looked down! (Eek!) Ellen and me played spot-the-moving-dots-that-are-actually-people!

Here we are on the 103rd-floor ledge!

2. The beach!!!  We went to the beach of lake Michigan and it was lovely! Lake Michigan is the size of a small sea! There weren’t any big waves (because it’s a lake) but of course it wasn’t completely still (like a bowl of water); it was (to quote Goldilocks) 'just right'.

3. The video about genetics in what-Ellen called the 'normal museum'  - the Field Museum.  I don’t know why it was good, it just was!

Here we are with Sue, the T-rex skeleton
